Users module

Roles, access and users — under control.

Create custom roles and fine-tune their capabilities, decide exactly which admin menus each role can see and in what order, manage your users in bulk, and keep a login activity log — all from your WPStack panel, with administrators always safe from lockout.

Why it’s different

Everything user & role, in one module

Roles, capabilities, per-role admin menus and user management — the tools you’d normally reach for two or three plugins to cover, in one place.

Custom roles

Create your own roles — “Project Client”, “Shop manager”, anything — or edit the built-in ones, all without touching PHP.

Grouped capabilities

Turn permissions on and off in tidy groups — Posts, Pages, Media, Users, Plugins, Themes, Settings — with select-all per group.

Per-role menu access

Decide exactly which admin-menu items each role can see. Hide the noise so clients only get what they need.

Drag to reorder the menu

Set the order of top-level menus and submenus per role by dragging — the admin sidebar follows your layout.

User management

Add and edit users, generate strong passwords, change roles in bulk and search or filter your whole user list.

Login activity log

A running record of sign-ins and sign-outs, with the last login shown next to every user.

Safe by design

Administrators are always exempt from menu restrictions — there is no way to hide yourself out of the dashboard.

Admin-only & light

Everything lives in wp-admin. Nothing is added to your public pages, so the front end stays untouched.

How it works

Four tabs, done

Users, Roles, Menu Access and Activity Log — set them up once and each role gets exactly the admin it should.

01

Activate the module

Flip Users on in WPStack → Modules. A Users screen appears in the WPStack menu.

02

Create roles & capabilities

Add roles and switch on the grouped capabilities each one should have.

03

Shape menus & manage users

Set each role’s visible menu items (drag to reorder), then add or reassign users.

Manage everyone in one place

A faster way to manage users & roles

Add and edit users from a modal, generate strong passwords, and search or filter the whole list. Select several at once to change their role or remove them, and see each person’s last login at a glance.

  • Show or hide any admin-menu item per role
  • Drag to reorder top-level menus and submenus
  • Toggle individual submenu items independently
  • Save each role’s layout separately
  • Administrators are always fully exempt
  • Changes apply the moment a user loads the admin

Users is an admin-side module — it manages roles, capabilities, admin menus and a login log inside wp-admin, and adds nothing to your front end.

FAQ

Users, answered

Yes. Add as many custom roles as you need and choose their capabilities from grouped toggles, or edit the built-in WordPress roles. Custom roles can be deleted; built-in ones are protected.

Yes — the Menu Access tab lets you show or hide any admin-menu item (top-level and submenu) per role, and drag them into the order you want. Each role saves its own layout.

No. Administrators are always exempt from menu restrictions, so an admin never loses access to the dashboard — you can’t hide yourself out.

Yes. Add and edit users, generate strong passwords, search and filter the list, and change roles or remove users in bulk.

Yes — a login activity log records sign-ins and sign-outs, and each user shows their last login at a glance.

No. Users is an admin-side module — roles, capabilities, menu access and the login log all live in wp-admin. Your public pages are untouched.

Yes — like every WPStack module, Users is included in every plan. Switch it on per project from the modules panel.
