SMTP, answered
Yes. This module sends through a real mail server, so you supply SMTP credentials from a provider — your email host, Google, Microsoft, SendGrid, Amazon SES, Mailgun and so on. It doesn’t send mail on its own.
Almost always because the site uses PHP mail(), which hosts block or spam-filter. Routing through authenticated SMTP is the single biggest fix — and the log’s “Via” column shows you exactly which transport was used.
Yes. It hooks the standard wp_mail() pipeline, so password resets, WooCommerce emails, form notifications and plugin mail are all routed and logged automatically.
Yes — define WPSTACK_SMTP_PASS in wp-config.php. It takes precedence, hides the password field in the admin, and keeps the secret out of the database and backups.
Use 587 with TLS for most providers, or 465 with SSL if TLS is refused. Port 25 (no encryption) is widely blocked and best avoided.
